Over a period of about 3 decades, the LDS Church’s First Presidency gave away a variety of older books to their church employees along with a note of recommendation for each book. Besides the standard works, books from all of the presidents and a number of apostles were offered, giving each book renewed legitimacy. Through December, Bill and Eric will take a look at some of these books and see what they teach, sometimes a bit different than what is emphasized in today’s church. These special books are available in the library at the Utah Christian Research Center (utahchristianresearchcenter.com)
